Welcome to 969 (St. Helens) Squadron website. The squadron is one of thirty units, which make up the Merseyside Wing and is part of the Wales and West region of the Air Training Corps.
The Air Training Corps is a voluntary Youth Organisation aimed at young people aged between 13 – 18 years old. As a Cadet in the ATC, you will participate in a variety of arranged activities such as; Flying, Gliding, Annual Camps, Academic Studies, Community work and much more. Most activities are related to the Royal Air Force, whom we work closely with. The training received in the ATC will be useful both in Civilian life and the Armed services.
As Commanding Officer of 969 Sqn., it is my responsibility to ensure the squadron meets the challenges set out for us and to ensure the cadets are given every opportunity to complete their self-development and leadership skills.
All my staff on this squadron are dedicated to meeting those same goals, it is my hope that through visiting this website the viewer will gain an insight into 969 Sqn, the Air Cadets Organisation, it’s aims and the opportunities it offers to the young people of St. Helens.
